If you like to be ahead of the curve with starting pitchers, then check out Jeremy Sowers, Brad Thompson and Vince Mazzaro. If you want a safer option, there is still Trevor Cahill or Edinson Volquez. And Ricky Nolasco is regaining his confidence in AAA.
Matt Harrison and Jose Valverde are progressing in their respective rehabs. If someone else dropped Valverde, it’s time to make room for him. It also wouldn’t be a bad time to trade LaTroy Hawkins if you have him.
Don’t give up on Jason Kubel. He will get a few days off here and there, but he produces when he is in the lineup.
