Matt Harrison got knocked around again, but it may not be time to give up. Young pitchers don’t bring it every day, and even though he has not pitched well all month, it’s not clear that he suddenly sucks out loud. Would you like a safer option? Brian Tallet. An even safer option? Hiroki Kuroda. The safest option? Joel Pineiro. In need of rate stats more than wins? John Lannan. Old school? Livan Hernandez.
Skip Schumaker has a nice little hitting streak going. Throw in his multiposition eligibility, and you’ve got a winner. To a lesser degree, Nick Punto fits the mold as well.
Jhonny Peralta is hot. And after you take his photo and put it on your locker door, you should also add him to your fantasy team.
Don’t forget about Garret Anderson. He can still hit. He’s Brian Giles five years ago. And in five years Scott Hairston will be like him, but because it’s today, he is a better option if you can get him.
With Chris Snyder on the DL, Miguel Montero will be the starter.
